This message has been updated. Partly due to the weather conditions, the asphalt paving work has been brought forward! The changes can be found in the paragraph with the heading “when”.

These are the final stages of the major renovation operation, which we have carried out in various phases at Park Startbaan since 2018. We are now ready for the ‘finishing touch’: at the end of November we will replace the old asphalt on the main paths with beautiful new asphalt in cycle path color We do take a number of measures to guarantee the accessibility of the clubhouse and sports locations during work.

When?

The work will take place in the last two weeks of November.

In the week from 18 to 22 November (week 47), the paving in the park will be raised to create a good connection with the new higher asphalt layer. The clubhouse will remain accessible as normal, but the bicycle racks will have already been moved. See next text block.

In the following week, on Monday to Thursday, November 25 – 28 (week 48), the asphalt paving work will take place: milling, leveling, applying an adhesive layer and new asphalt on top. During these works, the clubhouse and sports facilities will remain accessible, but only via a special walking route.

Bicycle shed

The bicycle shed will be temporarily moved to the yard of groundsman Herman Mus, the area of the garage boxes. This will be indicated by signs. When the work is finished, the bicycle racks will be returned to their old location

Special walking route

There is a special walking route in the park during the asphalt work. From the entrance, between the padel courts and over the clay courts 1-4 and the terrace, a walking route is marked with ribbons and signs. Traffic controllers are also present to provide directions and help if necessary.

Padel and tennis outside

The padel courts and outdoor courts 1 and 2 are not available from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 November. Those days are blocked in the reservation system.

Parking

Large machines are used for asphalt paving and paving adjustments. These machines are transported in large low loaders, which are parked in the parking lot. This will result in fewer parking spaces available. Please take this into account and, if possible, come to the park by other means of transport.

Finally

We assume that the work will go well and smoothly, after which the park will be provided with a beautiful floor covering for years to come. We ask everyone’s understanding for the inconvenience and we count on your cooperation on the days that the work takes place. We are available for questions and comments at info@parkstartbaan.nl.
