The new entrance gate, the broken cable and the new benches
The construction of the new entrance gate has been considerably delayed due to the damage caused to the KPN cable during the ground work. Not being able to pin, no telephone coverage for a week, the consequences were major. Fortunately, everything has been repaired, a piece of new cable has been welded in between. Wifi, telephone and the Sports Café's cash register system function as usual.

The renewal project of the outdoor courts last winter has almost been completed. For the first time in the Park's history, they are now "our" courts. Second lockdown and rent refunds
Park Startbaan has been closed since december 15th 2020 due to the coronapandemia. How long this forced closure period will last is still uncertain, but for the time being an extension has been decided by the government until February 10, 2021. It is uncertain whether the closure will be prolongated thereafter or not. After the reopening of the park, we will inform everyone

Dear tennis players and billiard players Sports at our park will not be allowed for the time being, until February 10th. It is a hard blow for everyone involved. But we have to accept this reality. We fully understand the decision of our government, convinced of the necessity. Hopefully more will be possible from February
Progress of construction projects: changing rooms, outdoor courts and padel
The space of the two dressing rooms has now been completely “demolished”. The future walls are “drawn” on the floor with wood, after which the installer can start installing the underfloor heating after the holidays. (see picture)
The trees are threatened
There are five ash trees on the right side of the park entrance. These trees determine the park-like character upon entry. We have a sad message about these trees. Three of the five ash trees unfortunately have to give way as a result of the construction work.

Changing rooms on the shovel
We will start renovation work on the changing rooms on 30 November at an accelerated pace, partly due to the current corona restrictions. The layout of the rooms changes completely. The ladies' and men's dressing room will soon be located next to a new corridor that gives the bar a short route to the billiards center. For billiards this will be a new entrance, the old entrance will be closed.
Temperature and ventilation in the billiard center
We don't tell the regular visitors of the billiard center anything new: in the summer the billiard center is often too hot. Problems arise if the outside temperature rises above 20 degrees. At even higher outside temperatures, the inside temperatures are correspondingly higher.
Outdoor tennis in wintertime
Outdoor courts 1 to 4 will remain available from November 1, 2020. These courts will remain open until planned work on the courts and fencing starts. This will be reported on this website in time. Even with (moderate to severe) frost, the courts become permanently unplayable. In that case we will also make this known
Corona crisis and Parkstartbaan (update September 29, 2020)
From 6 pm this afternoon (Tuesday 29 September) the catering industry at Park Startbaan will be closed. In the decisions of the cabinet yesterday it was indicated that from this afternoon all sports restaurants must be closed for at least the next 3 weeks. This also applies to professional catering in or on sports facilities. So unfortunately also for our catering industry.

Billiards and indoor tennis courts reopen on July 1st! (update 28 June)
Pleasant news came from the NOC NSF, the Dutch national sports organization. They report that indoor sports will be possible again from 1 July, provided COVID19 does not deteriorate in June. Corona crisis and Park Startbaan update May 23, 2020
The rumors were already circulating, and the news was already available on the LTC Startbaan site: after the first relaxation for the tennis enthusiasts in the form of the approval to play singles only, the KNLTB protocol was broadened on 20 May. You can now also play doubles again. Also on court 7, the court which you can rent per hour for the first time this year! For the billiards center, we also aim to open on June 1st. But there is still a lot of uncertainty about this.
